I had a regular client who always wanted me to hold her hand because her anxiety was that bad when it came to getting her hair done. Do you know how long it takes to do hair with only one hand?
One time I didn't realize how much bronzer my client used until I took her to the shampoo bowl. By the time I was done the color of her forehead was severely different than the rest of her face!
My client asked if she could go outside to check on her goats that were in the back seat of her car.
No matter how many times I have done this woman's hair, it never fails. She always brings in store bought color in the hopes that I will discount her service. Every time I tell her "no" and she always replies with "maybe next time". We've been doing this for 3 years now, but I adore her.
For a brief period I worked at a salon where the owner would bring in her chickens. They would run around the shop while we were trying to take care of clients. Total madhouse and I don't miss that place at all.
I worked at a salon with a strict policy that we would not touch extensions if they were not done by us. I had a customer who argued for 20 minutes that she didn't have extensions in her hair and demanded a haircut. It was the craziest thing I've ever experienced because we could clearly see the strand by strand extensions!!!
This kid, maybe 19, sat in my chair and VERY confidently said he wanted a #1 on the sides and finger length on the top. With that level of confidence I didn't see any reason to question him. After that first swipe he practically jumped out of the chair and yelled "what did you do". I was both embarrassed and angry so I quickly told him that was the #1. He was so mad, but sat back down telling me how I messed up but there's no turning back now.... plot twist. By the end of the haircut that little jerk stared himself up and down in the mirror with sexy eyes and said "actually this isn't too bad."
While getting ready to cut a new clients hair, she kept grabbing the comb from my hand because she didn't like how I was parting it. I kept trying to explain I was sectioning to cut and would part it where she likes once we were ready to style it. Needless to say it was a LONG appointment and she didn't return.
I'm not sure if it's funny or not, but I had a regular client who always called me her beauty operator. She also had a coin purse where she would pull out a dime and say "I take care of my girls". She was the sweetest elderly woman ever!!!
